![]() ![]() In the last few years, it occasionally felt like Mozilla sometimes forgot that as it started chasing the mobile OS market (and even dipped its toes into the world of IoT). While I’m not sure Mozilla really needed a new brand identity (but then, I’m no marketer), I like the fact that the new logo puts the emphasis squarely on the web and the organization’s core mission. It was designed by Typotheque, which was also the first foundry to release web-based fonts back in the dark ages of the web. The new “Zilla” font that makes up the new logo is - in good Mozilla fashion - available for free and under an open source license. We are committed to the original intent of the link as the beginning of an unfiltered, unmediated experience into the rich content of the Internet,” the organization explains. “Our logo with its nod to URL language reinforces that the Internet is at the heart of Mozilla. The new Mozilla logo takes its cue from the way URLs are formed (moz://a). After a few years of missteps and misplaced priorities (remember Firefox OS and Hello?), it looks like Mozilla, which is more important to the open web ecosystem than most people realize, is back on track. To get 2017 started, though, Mozilla has decided to give itself a new look - one that marks a pretty radical break with its old brand identity (and I don’t expect we’ll see the Mozilla dinosaur make a comeback anytime soon). The organization’s flagship Firefox browser, for example, is about to get a brand-new rendering engine. But if you want FFox to remember anyway, just put a Master Password so that you’re password info is not easily stolen by anyone.Mozilla is setting itself up for a big year ahead. Tip: I know a lot of people who actually do NOT want Firefox remembering passwords for online security reasons. For Firefox 3, delete the file called signons3.txt.Īfter I did the above steps Firefox was prompting me again to save my login and password information :) Note: the original file name is signons.txt, but different version of Firefox use a version postfix. ![]() If you want to be extra careful, just rename it. Under this folder, look for the file called signons2.txt and delete it.note that this directory name assumes you’re using C:\ as the drive where you have Firefox installed. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\ Firefox\Profiles\.Here Are the Steps to Make Firefox Ask You to Save Passwords Again I went to Tools -> Options -> Security -> Remember passwords for sites, and there were no sites listed under Exceptions.Īfter a few more online digging, I found out that the problem rested on a file called signons2.txt. ![]() I did exactly that but this time Firefox simply REFUSED to ask me to save my login info and password! I already made sure that I had the right browser settings. So nothing left but to visit those sites and login again, right? I saw some remedies online but sad to say I was not able to retrieve my lost login and password info (at least without trying 3rd party software). Ok, I had a backup Excel sheet (password-protected of course) that I could use but since I have logins to literally hundreds of sites, I knew it would be a nightmare to visit these sites, login, and save the user and password info all over again. A couple of months ago, I accidentally deleted all my Saved online logins and passwords on Firefox. ![]()
